Build confidence in recognising and understanding mental health presentations

Provisional Psychologists β€’ Counselling Students β€’ Social Workers β€’ Mental Health Practitioners

This workshop is designed to help you build confidence in recognising and understanding mental health presentations, even in complex or unclear cases.

Whether you're still studying or early in your clinical work, this practical session will give you the tools and language to better understand what clients are really telling you β€” and how to put that into clear clinical language.

What will I learn?

βœ… How to spot key symptoms from client dialogue and behaviour
βœ… Understanding common comorbidities and how they influence presentations
βœ… How to discuss mental health symptoms sensitively and clearly with clients
βœ… How to write about symptoms in case notes, referrals, or assessments
βœ… Ways to start forming hypotheses and diagnostic impressions
βœ… Boosting clinical confidence in early sessions or assessments
